Lorenzo Ferrero & Anibal Seminario

Upon completing their studies, Lorenzo made the pivotal decision to move to Los Angeles. This reunion marked a significant turning point for both musicians. With their combined experiences and deep-rooted passion for Afro Peruvian music, they knew it was time to bring their vision to life.

The idea of forming an Afro Peruvian big band had always been a dream for Anibal and Lorenzo. Now, in the culturally diverse city of Los Angeles, that dream has become a reality. Their shared vision and dedication have culminated in the creation of the Afro Peruvian Jazz Orchestra.

It is our pleasure to present to you the “Afro Peruvian Jazz Orchestra,” a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Peru and the innovative spirit of jazz. Through their music, Lorenzo and Anibal continue to bridge the gap between traditional rhythms and contemporary sounds, offering a fresh and captivating musical experience.

Lorenzo and Anibal met in Lima, Peru while performing with the Peruvian National Youth Symphony Orchestra. Both classical clarinet players at the time, they became immediate friends and began building a unique musical relationship. Their shared passion for music and cultural heritage laid the foundation for a lasting collaboration.

Anibal later moved to Los Angeles to study at California State University of Long Beach, immersing himself in the vibrant jazz scene of Southern California. Meanwhile, Lorenzo moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music, where he honed his skills in jazz and contemporary music.
