Anibal and Lorenzo first met in Lima, Peru, while performing with the National Youth Symphony Orchestra, developing a friendship rooted in their shared love of music and cultural heritage.

Anibal moved to Los Angeles to study jazz at California State University Long Beach, while Lorenzo refined his skills at Berklee College of Music in Boston. After completing their studies, both joined in Los Angeles, leading to the creation of the APJO.

This ensemble celebrates Peru's cultural heritage and the vibrancy of jazz, blending traditional rhythms with modern sounds for a unique musical experience.
